The Richmond Heights Police Department would like to invite you to come outside and meet a Richmond Heights Police Officer, walking your neighborhood. During scheduled times (listed below), an officer will be in your neighborhood, to meet residents. This is a perfect time for you to voice concerns you may have or just to get to know one of our officers. updated 1/6/2014 @ 1:20pm Due to the inclement weather, both the Richmond Heights City Hall and The Heights Recreation Center will be closed on Monday, January 6th. The Richmond Heights Police Department would like its residents to be aware of a recent string of daytime burglaries that have taken place the St. Louis County area, including Richmond Heights. The suspects in these burglaries are described as two black males in their 20’s to 30’s, dressed as utility workers (wearing orange vests and hard hats). If approached by individuals identifying themselves as utility workers, please ask for identification and contact the police department with any suspicious activity. Recently the Richmond Heights Police Department took a report from an individual who was a victim of a common type of scam, sometimes referred to as a “family emergency scam” or “grandparent scam.” As explained by the Federal Trade Commission…

On Saturday, April 27, the Richmond Heights Police Department participated in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Drug Take-Back Program. Between our two sites (Public Safety Building and The Heights Recreation Center), we collected 125 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs. We agree with the DEA in that Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. Rates of prescription drug abuse in the U.S. are alarmingly high, as are the number of accidental poisonings and overdoses due to these drugs. We are very pleased with the success of this program and look forward to participating again in the future .
On friday, April 19th, the Richmond Heights Police Department hosted its 15th annual Trivia Night fundraiser to benefit the Missouri Special Olympics. This year’s event raised over $1,300 for this great organization. We would like to thank everyone who participated this year and look forward to having another successful event next year. There have been numerous incidents of property damage to car windows and houses caused by BB guns. This has occurred mostly in Council Districts 1 & 2 (see map below). These changes protect your identity and help decrease fraud. The new system means the end of the over-the-counter driver license system that has been in place since the 1990’s, and allows the Department to install substantially more modern technology.
