The Richmond Heights Police Department responded to 17 traffic accidents in the month of April 2020. This is down from the 67 accidents that were handled in April 2019*. For the year, we have responded to 174 accidents. This is 91 less than the same time period in 2019*. *This decrease can be attributed, in part, to the significant drop in vehicle traffic due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The FBI’s UCR Program collects statistics on the number of offenses known to law enforcement. In the traditional Summary Reporting System (SRS), there are eight crimes, or Part I offenses, (murder and nonnegligent homicide, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, motor vehicle theft, larceny-theft, and arson) to be reported to the UCR Program.
