A resident turned in a purse that she had found lying on the ground. Investigation of the paperwork found inside the purse revealed that the purse was stolen from the QuikTrip located in the City of Maplewood. Maplewood PD was notified and the purse was turned over to the owner. |

February 2021 Crime Summaries →
The Richmond Heights Police Department responded to 64 traffic accidents in December 2020. This is down from the 84 accidents that were handled in December 2019*. For the year, we have responded to 538 accidents. This is 306 less than the same time period in 2019*. It should be noted that this includes accidents that occur on private property. For accidents that occurred only on public roadways, we responded to 497 in 2020. This was significantly less than the 778 we responded to in 2019*.
*This decrease can be attributed, in part, to the significant drop in vehicle traffic due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Officers responded to Cheshire Inn for the report of a loud party. One unruly subject was arrested for Peace Disturbance and then spit on officers after they had placed her in handcuffs. She was additionally charged with three counts of Assault. The incident was referred to the Richmond Heights Prosecutor. |

The FBI’s UCR Program collects statistics on the number of offenses known to law enforcement. In the traditional Summary Reporting System (SRS), there are eight crimes, or Part I offenses, (murder and nonnegligent homicide, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, motor vehicle theft, larceny-theft, and arson) to be reported to the UCR Program. For more information, visit the FBI’s UCR website.
The Richmond Heights Police Department responded to 58 traffic accidents in the month of November 2020. This is down from the 78 accidents that were handled in November 2019*. For the year, we have responded to 474 accidents. This is 286 less than the same time period in 2019*.
