How to Obtain Police Reports

  • You may obtain a copy of a police report after 5 days of the incident.
  • Within the first 30 days of the incident, the only people allowed to obtain copy of the a report are:
    • People directly involved in the incident (named in the report)
    • Attorneys representing involved parties
    • Insurance companies
  • Requests must be made to the Custodian of Records, Pam Hylton at or at phylton@richmondheights.org.
  • Please include the report number or any other identifying information (date of occurrence, names of involved parties) when making the request.
  • A fee to cover the cost of materials and personnel hours may be added as allowed by the Missouri Sunshine Law.
  • Vehicle crash reports may be purchased online for $8 by visiting CrashDocs.org
