On Saturday, April 27, the Richmond Heights Police Department participated in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Drug Take-Back Program. Between our two sites (Public Safety Building and The Heights Recreation Center), we collected 125 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs. We agree with the DEA in that Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. Rates of prescription drug abuse in the U.S. are alarmingly high, as are the number of accidental poisonings and overdoses due to these drugs. We are very pleased with the success of this program and look forward to participating again in the future .
On friday, April 19th, the Richmond Heights Police Department hosted its 15th annual Trivia Night fundraiser to benefit the Missouri Special Olympics. This year’s event raised over $1,300 for this great organization. We would like to thank everyone who participated this year and look forward to having another successful event next year. last updated 5/3/2013
