The FBI’s UCR Program collects statistics on the number of offenses known to law enforcement. In the traditional Summary Reporting System (SRS), there are eight crimes, or Part I offenses, (murder and nonnegligent homicide, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, motor vehicle theft, larceny-theft, and arson) to be reported to the UCR Program. For more information, visit the FBI’s UCR website. The Richmond Heights Police Department responded to 54 traffic accidents in the month of October 2020. This is down from the 79 accidents that were handled in October 2019*. For the year, we have responded to 416 accidents. This is 266 less than the same time period in 2019*. *This decrease can be attributed, in part, to the significant drop in vehicle traffic due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
