An 18 year old male was arrested for shoplifting and held pending a case review by the municipal prosecutor.

5/1/12 7500 blk Hiawatha LSA/Robbery

 

Officers responded on Hiawatha to investigate a leaving the scene accident involving a dark colored vehicle. Another officer located the suspect vehicle at Laclede and Dale. The driver was taken into custody as a fugitive from another agency. The driver told officers he was robbed on the lot of the VFW Hall and was chasing the suspects on Hiawatha. The robbery suspect entered a white vehicle being driven by an unknown female which left the scene striking two parked cars. The alleged robbery and leaving the scene accidents are under investigation.
5/3/12 1200 blk E. Linden Child Abuse

 

An officer was called to Meramec Elementary School in Clayton to assist in the investigation of alleged child abuse that may have occurred at a home in the 1200 block of E. Linden.  An interview of the juvenile at the school was conducted by a social worker with the Division of Family Services.  This led to contacting the family on E. Linden for further interview.  Once all interviews were completed, it was the consensus of the officer and social worker that no evidence existed to warrant the removal of any of the children from their home.  No further investigation is required at this time.

Child Endangerment

 

A 15 year old juvenile contacted the front desk of the Richmond Center claiming he’d been kidnapped.  Resulting investigation revealed the child was on route to Florida with his mother and siblings when he fled her custody claiming physical abuse.  The juvenile was taken into protective custody and eventually placed in foster care.  The child’s mother has not reported him missing but contacted East Central Dispatch saying her son was acting bad and ran away from her.  She did not come to the station but left a Kansas City phone number.  Messages for her have not been returned.

Victim reported the rear license plate of her car was stolen while parked in the garage at St. Mary’s.  There are no witnesses and the license plate was entered into the computer as stolen.

A 21 year old male and two juvenile females were taken into custody for shoplifting more than $1300 worth of merchandise.  When stopped outside the store, one juvenile fled on foot to a waiting vehicle.  Unable to get in, she continued fleeing but was eventually subdued by mall security.  The male suspect was booked and released for felony stealing while the two juveniles were transported to Family Court in Clayton.

Victim reportedly left her wallet on the counter after making a purchase.  Discovering her wallet missing, she later returned to the restaurant and learned it had been turned in minus some credit cards which she learned had been fraudulently used at locations outside Richmond Heights.

A Maggiano’s employee claims he was attacked and assaulted by a co-worker and his friends after getting off work.  The unprovoked attack was the result of words the two parties had earlier in the evening.  The reporting party claims he was assaulted with fists, feet, and a tire iron but refused medical attention.  Officers were able to identify the other co-worker who is not actively wanted for the assault.

A 17 year old female reported she was sexually assaulted while attending a party at the Residence Inn after her prom.  The victim knows her attacker but seemed reluctant to want to prosecute him.

A 68 year old male, suspected of driving while intoxicated, was taken into custody after an officer observed him driving erratically in the 1200 block of Hanley Road.  He was booked on suspicion of DWI and given additional municipal court summonses for driving without headlights, no driver’s license, and having no proof of insurance.

Recovered Property

 

An officer was called to the Apple Store when a customer brought in a stolen laptop to have the password reset.  The customer told the officer he purchased the laptop from a subject in St. Louis city after contacting him on Craig’s List. The customer provided a written statement and was released at the scene without the laptop.  Further investigation determined the laptop was stolen from its owner in Brentwood.  Their agency is now handling the investigation.

Robbery 1st

 

An employee, policing the lot before the start of business, was accosted on the lot by a gunman wearing a green stocking mask.  The gunman motioned for the employee to come towards him but in turn ran back into the business warning the others.  The gunman entered the business and ordered the manager to open the safe.  Money was taken from two cash drawers in the safe before the suspect fled through the front door and was last seen running north.  This may be related to an incident in St. Peter’s wherein the same described suspect wearing a green stocking mask robbed a Check ‘n Go store at gunpoint.

Victim returned home at 5:25 p.m. and discovered someone had gained entry to her home by breaking out a pane of glass in the back door and unlocking the deadbolt.  A jewelry box was discovered missing from a second floor bedroom.  The case is being investigated.
5/7/12 7200 blk Wise Ave Destruction of Property

 

Victim reported that someone had broken out the glass in the driver’s door of his car.  There are no suspects.

Victim returned home in the afternoon to find someone had gained entry to his ground floor apartment by going through the bathroom window.  Only a roll of quarters was reported missing.  The case is being investigated.

A 21 year old female was taken into custody for shoplifting and verbally threatening a store clerk who tried to detain her.  The female was issued a summons for shoplifting and held on outstanding warrants from other agencies.

Victim’s blue and white 24 speed Trek mountain bike was stolen from outside his apartment.  The chain link fence, to which the bike was secured, was cut in order for the suspect to steal it.

The victim stated he had a confrontation with a 17 year old neighbor after the neighbor and his friends refused to move out of the street so he could back out of his driveway.  A short time later, witnesses observed the 17 year old dump trash on the victim’s front yard and leave the area in a friend’s vehicle.  A complaint was signed and the matter forwarded to the city’s prosecuting attorney.

Graffiti was spray painted in several areas on the walkover area of Bellevue where it crosses Interstate 64.  The graffiti was photographed and the highway department contacted to have it removed.

Graffiti was spray painted on concrete and a stop sign in the 1500 block of Yale Avenue.  Images were not the same at the graffiti on Bellevue.  Public works was contacted to have it removed.

A former employee, whose last day of work was 5/10/12, is suspected of stealing the day’s receipts and failing to make the bank deposit.   An investigation is underway.

Two 17 year old students were taken into custody for fighting on a school bus.  Bond for each was set at $250.

The homeowner reported to police that sometime during the day; someone had broken a pane of glass in his rear door, reached through, and unlocked the deadbolt. Although it was determined the suspect(s) had entered the home, the homeowner reported nothing missing.

Victim reported that someone had broken out her basement window.  It appeared that no entry to the residence was made.

A 21 year old male and 21 year old female were taken into custody after becoming involved in a domestic dispute and assaulting each other.  Both parties were booked and released pending application of a warrant.

One female and one male were taken into custody by St. Louis police after trying to sell jewelry to a gold buying dealer in the city.  The jewelry was traced back to the Hiawatha address where the home owners were already aware of the theft but had yet to report it to police.  Both suspects will be questioned further by police along with a known third party who fled the scene in St. Louis.

Two 17 year old females were taken into custody for trespassing after they refused mall security’s request to leave the property.  Both females were in violation of the mall’s PGR policy and refused numerous requests to leave.  They were booked and placed in a holding cell pending a municipal warrant application.

Officers were called to investigate an apparent domestic assault which took place on the Galleria parking lot.  They learned the couple was married and upon further investigation arrested the husband for physically assaulting his wife.  The husband was booked and held for municipal warrant application.

An officer, conducting a vehicle check, took the driver into custody after he admitted being in possession of marijuana.  The vehicle was also occupied by a male juvenile who had been reported as a runaway to Maplewood PD.  The adult male was booked and held for municipal warrant application.  The juvenile was released to his parents.

Officers were called to the hospital to investigate a suspicious vehicle left running in front of the building.  An investigation revealed the auto was reported stolen through St. Louis City PD.  The vehicle was towed and the owner contacted.

Victim reported seeing an unknown subject steal his compound miter saw from his vehicle on Oakland Avenue.  The victim obtained license information on the suspect vehicle and an investigation is underway.

Officers were dispatched to assist the fire department with a house fire.  Once extinguished, officers discovered the occupants of the house were growing illegal mushrooms in their basement. Heroin and marijuana were also found in the home.  Both residents were arrested and charged with violating Missouri’s controlled substance law.  State warrants are pending.

A 16 year old was detained on suspicion of fraudulently using an American Express card to purchase a pair of tennis shoes.  Unable to reach the card holder, the juvenile was released at the scene.  Further investigation revealed the credit card was stolen.  The case will be referred to Family Court.

5/17/12 1500 blk Collins Avenue Disorderly Conduct

 

Officers and paramedics were dispatched for an unresponsive 17 year old male.  An investigation determined he had ingested an opiate drug and was given a drug by paramedics to counteract this.  Once conscious, the male became combative and fought with officers and paramedics.  He was subdued with a Taser and secured to the gurney.  He continued to be combative when transported to the hospital.  Municipal warrants will be sought for his disorderly conduct and assault on an EMS worker.

Victim was walking to his vehicle parked on the second level of the parking structure.  Hearing his car alarm sounding, the victim ran to his car and observed a suspect standing next to his vehicle.  The suspect took off running to a waiting Chevrolet Camaro driven by a second suspect and fled from the scene.  An investigation is underway.

The store manager attempted to stop a male shoplifter after exiting the store.  The suspect only returned a portion of what he took and then ran out mall door #4 to a waiting red Mustang.  Mall security was able to obtain the license plate of the Mustang and the case is being investigated.

Officers were called to the residence for a domestic assault.  The investigation revealed one party allowed the other to return to the apartment to retrieve personal items and a fight ensued.  Both were arrested and booked for domestic assault. Municipal warrants will be sought.

Victim reported that he frequently goes out of town on business and sometime between 3/1/12 and 5/29/12, someone has gained access to his apartment stealing cash and jewelry.

Officers were called to the 1600 block of Bellevue to investigate someone continually blowing their car horn.  Officers contacted a 25 year old intoxicated female sitting in her car talking to her boyfriend by phone.  The car was in the off position however, the female was in no condition to drive and was brought to the station to await her boyfriend.  While at the station the female became combative and climbed onto the front lobby counter.  Continuing to ignore officer’s instructions, she was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct.  Before she could be booked, her boyfriend arrived and she was released to his custody.  The matter will be presented to the city’s prosecuting attorney for review.

Victim reported that someone tried to gain access to her vehicle by punching a hole beneath the door handle.  No access was gained and nothing was reported missing.
5/30/12 1700 blk Banneker Domestic Assault

 

Officers were called to the residence for a reported disturbance.  Further investigation revealed an argument took place between the parents of minor children.  The father, who was still on the scene, reported being scratched and bitten by his ex-girlfriend who is the mother of their children.  The ex-girlfriend had already fled the scene and is actively being sought in connection with this assault.
