CALEA Accreditation Virtual Public Forum

A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) will begin an examination on 07/19/2021 of all aspects of the Richmond Heights Police
Department including policy and procedures, management, operations, and services. This assessment is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation, a highly sought-after recognition of public safety excellence. The Richmond Heights Police Department must comply with all applicable standards in order to be awarded accredited status. The Assessment Team is composed of retired law enforcement professionals from out of state. The assessors will review written material, interview individuals in a virtual setting, and interact with agency representatives in order to verify compliance with each of the CALEA standards. As part of the assessment, members of the community are invited to offer comments to the CALEA Assessment Team. We ask that comments be limited to three minutes in length and must address the Richmond Heights Police Department’s ability to comply with CALEA standards.
