Recent Vehicle Tampering

Update (10/7/2015):

During the evening of 10/6/2015, several more unlocked vehicles were ransacked in the area of Arch Terrace, Surrey Hills and the Sheridan Hills neighborhood (red shaded area).  Please remove valuables and secure your vehicles.  As always, report any suspicious activity immediately.


Overnight (Sept 29-30), numerous unlocked cars were unlawfully entered and rifled through. These cars were parked in the neighborhood bordered by Hwy I-64, Wise Ave, Big Bend and Boland (green shaded area).  Please report any suspicious activity by calling 911.

Daytime Burglaries

Since 9/1/15, there have been several daytime burglaries discovered within the area shown in the map below. Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately by calling 911 or 314-645-3000

Recent Car Tampering

Between 08/23/15 at about 10pm and 08/24/15 at 7am, five vehicles were entered unlawfully. This occurred in the Little Flower and Hampton Park neighborhoods (see map below). In each incident, either loose change or nothing was taken. Also, a vehicle was stolen from the Hampton Park neighborhood during this time. Residents are cautioned to be more vigilant with the security of their vehicles. This includes not leaving valuable personal property in them, not leaving keys to the vehicle accessible and locking vehicle doors. As always report suspicious activity to police immediately.

Lane Closures on Highway 40

Due to upcoming sound wall repairs, the following road closures are expected:

  • On Wednesday, June 17 – Crews will close one westbound lane at McCausland from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • On Thursday, June 18th, MODoT crews will close the ramp from Big Bend and the ramp from Bellevue onto the interstate between from 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.  They will also close one westbound lane on the interstate.
  • Friday, June 19, crews will close one lane on eastbound I-64 from Brentwood to Boland and the auxiliary lane between Hanley and Big Bend.  The ramp from Hanley to eastbound I-64 will remain open.

Bank Robbery

On 11/19/14 at approximately 10am, the US Bank, located inside Schnucks (6600 Clayton Rd) was robbed.

Vehicle Thefts

On 11/14/14 between 8:00am and 8:30am, two vehicles were stolen from residents while they were left running, unattended.  The affected areas were YALE AVENUE and CLAYTONIA TERRACE.  The Richmond Heights Police Department continues to stress that even though the temperatures are dropping, please do not warm up your vehicles and leave them unattended.  These types of crimes are typically ones of opportunity.  Please don’t provide an opportunity to be a victim of an easily preventable crime.

Burglary Just Occurred **UPDATED**

On 10/23/2014 at approximately 8am, a burglary was discovered in the 1100 block of Edward Terrace.  Two suspects were seen fleeing the area.  They are described as black males, wearing dark clothing.  One may be wearing his hair in dreadlocks.  Investigation is currently ongoing..

Area of Incident


Update (10/29/2014):

A burglary suspect has been identified (see below) and the police department is actively searching for him.  The suspects have not been located as of yet and residents should stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities they see immediately to the police department.  The police department remains actively patrolling the residential neighborhoods.  There have have been no additional burglaries reported since this incident.

Recent Daytime Residential Burglaries

The Richmond Heights Police Department would like its residents to be aware of a string of daytime residential burglaries that have occurred recently. Since Sunday, 10/5/14, the Richmond Heights Police Department has responded to three daytime residential burglaries. Entry was made by force and the homes were unoccupied at the time. The Police Department urges its residents to report ANY suspicious activity, no matter how unimportant you may feel it is. Please report activity by dialing 911 or 314-645-3000.
